Boardmatch are delighted to announce Ireland’s first Trustee Speed-Dating for charities and individuals looking to join a charity or NFP board.

At Boardmatch we want to continue to break down the obstacles between charities and those individuals who want to become trustees. This is another way, along with our FREE matching website, for charities and skilled individuals to engage. We have matched over 2,200 individuals to charity and NFP boards through our website to date and we see the potential that an event like this could have, introducing charities to a room full of individuals wanting to becoming charity trustees. This assists charities to fill their skills gaps and to undertake succession planning for their board, whilst also giving individuals a chance to give, upskill and challenge themselves with a new experience.

ABOUT THE EVENT
The event’s concept is to continue to make it more accessible for skilled individuals and charities to meet.

By Bringing both parties together in this setting, it gives rise to the number of skilled individuals that charities have access to at board level to fill the skills gaps.

For the charities and NFPs, We want to continue to encourage an independent and transparent trustee recruitment process, nomore asking our friends, family, people from within our circles, let us make a wider pool talent accessible so charities can have trustees independent of each other, trustees recruited for their skill and not who they are or who they know.

For the candidates, We also want to break down any obstacles for individuals who wish to become trustees but do not know how to engage or contact charities in respect of their board vacancies. Individuals usually join the board of a charity they know someone else on the board. Finding the right board is unique to you and you have to find the one that will make you give your most to.

This event will bring charities with board vacancies and skilled individuals together in the one room to connect, the first step of Boardmatch’s 3 step process: Connect. Match. Impact.

FOR CHARITIES
Best practice is ensuring that your board has a varied skill set of independent trustees that work together to achieve your charity’s strategic goals. By sourcing your trustees through a transparent and independent process, you are working towards achieving good governance, whilst maintaining accountability and transparency for your service users, public, and funders. Succession planning is critical for the longevity and sustainable of any organisation, and this event, alongside our other board recruitment services, will help your board to find new trustees.

“Using Boardmatch’s services was the best advice I have had so far on this journey to build a sustainable, transparent, and compliant charity. We have so far been fortunate enough to get five Directors for our board from Boardmatch. Each with a different skill set. We achieved in one year what would have taken me alone probably 5 years or more.”
Ann Marie O’Neill, Founder, Thrombosis Ireland.

This event is FREE for charities  to attend. If you are a charity interested in attending this event, please contact Hannah at hannahcoleman@boardmatch.ie. Due to the expected candidate demographic, this event is only suitable for charities in Dublin and the surrounding counties. Keep an eye on the website for events in your area in 2019.
