Many not-for-profit organisations recruit board members from their membership, through existing board members or other networks, Boardmatch compliments these methods. The free online matching service allows an organisation to search for volunteer board members with specific skills
To date we have placed over 400 board members on voluntary boards as diverse as credit unions, local community groups and oversea aid charities. We have over 2,000 candidates registered with Boardmatch
The Process
- Not-for-profit organisations register and create a profile describing the organisation, the work they do, their vision and mission.
- Once authorised by Boardmatch, organisations can log on to their profile and complete a board or committee vacancy post, highlighting the skills and experiences required for the particular position.
- Having created a position, matching that position will create a shortlist of individuals most closely matched on skills and preferences. You can then contact your preferred candidates via the website and ask them to consider your position.
- Candidates can also initiate contact with an organisation and ask you to consider them for an open position that you have.
- If the interest is mutual, contact details are exchanged and further contact is arranged by the organisation and candidate.
- Candidates and organisations interview each other, and do their required due diligence. Where there is mutual agreement, the candidate joins the board of the organisation – much like a job interview process.
