Board Training

The development of corporate governance is high on the agenda in all aspects of the voluntary sector; financial, housing, overseas development, CDPs, sports, education and cultural. They all rely on voluntary boards and the commitment of voluntary board members to direct the organisation.

Boardmatch Ireland wants to continue inspiring leadership and good governance and to this end we have a range of expertise which is available to the sector for the development of corporate governance initiatives. Boardmatch offers a range of training options from the bespoke one-off training sessions to a particular board or small boutique style training for senior staff and boards.

There are a large number of training organisations already in the sector, these general providers see governance as one element of their provision. Boardmatch focuses entirely on Boards, How Boards Operate and Good Board Governance. To that end we provide a small number of tailored courses for the not-for-profit sector:

  • Board Member Training Course

One day course to bring new trustees up to speed fast and refresh existing trustee’s understanding of their role.

  • Chair and CEOs Training

This is the crucial axis on which the not for profit operates on. This course provides guidance on how this should operate and how to improve it.

  • Board Renewal

All Boards fall into bad habits, this course looks at how to renew the dynamic of the Board and deliver an effective board to your not for profit organisation.

  • Board Failure

If a Board is failing or is facing problems, what can be done to address those failures? What actions can be taken and how should those actions be implemented. These actions can range from dissolution to merger, to board renewal.

Our trainers are skilled in the delivery of relevant and appropriate training for voluntary boards and can deliver training for a group of companies or for one company at a time.
