The key service that Boardmatch provides is the free online matching service. Through this free service we offer individuals the opportunity to volunteer time, energy and skills to the not-for-profit sector at a board level. While many people already volunteer within the sector, including on boards, there is an ongoing need for new people with diverse skills to join boards.

Through membership of a not-for-profit board individuals can:

The Process

  • Register as an individual and create a profile, listing your relevant skills, experiences and particular areas of interest (e.g. Youth, Environment, Overseas Aid, etc.)
  • Once registered, you will be able to search for not-for-profit board opportunities according to your preferences in location, skills set and area of interest.
  • Not-for-profit organisations registered with Boardmatch can view your profile (without your identity being disclosed) and invite you to look at an open position on their board.
  • Initial contact is made through the Boardmatch website, only if there is mutual interest are contact details exchanged and further contact is arranged between the organisation and the individual.
  • Individuals and organisations can then interview each other and do their required due diligence. Where there is mutual agreement, the individual joins the board of the organisation.

Please be assured that Boardmatch Ireland protects your privacy at all times. If you are a registered candidate with us, your name and contact details will not be visible to registered not-for-profit organisations until you decide to disclose your identity and contact details to your chosen matches.
