Hurry! We only have a few places left for our chair and CEO training, taking place on the 19th of September 2011 in the Arthur Cox building, Dublin 2.
Boardmatch Ireland aims to inspire leadership and good governance in the not-for-profit sector. In addition to our prospering FREE online matching service which continues to strengthen governance in the sector, Boardmatch has developed and hosted a series of highly successful CEO and Chairs network training sessions.
Our upcoming CEO and Chair seminar titled ‘understanding the role of the Chair and the CEO’ will provide a comprehensive insight into the roles played by the CEO and Chair of a not-for-profit board. This one day event will be led by two highly authoritative figures in the area of good governance training. Dorothy Dalton, editor of Governance magazine has had extensive experience in advising several national charities. Philip Smith is a partner in Arthur Cox and is coordinating partner of Arthur Cox’s Charity Law Group.
The course will begin with an in depth look into the role and expectations of the Chair and trustees before moving on to looking at ways to refresh the board and find new trustees. The second half of the day will include an interactive session where participants will be invited to take part in a problem solving exercise and will finish with the importance of reviewing the performance of a board.
Boardmatch is unique in its provision of good governance training services as we focus solely on improving the governing capacity of boards. In contrast to other training organisations which see governance as but one element of their provision, Boardmatch aims to tackle the core of the issue. Our bespoke training sessions are developed with this objective in mind.
