“My appointment as a non-executive director of the Special Olympics Ireland, has exposed me to a passionate group of people who want to positively influence society. This experience facilitated by IRUPA and Boardmatch has been a very constructive initiative and I would certainly encourage all my peers to identify charity boards that they can contribute on and at the same time develop themselves professionally.”
The initiative has seen some of Ireland’s leading rugby stars matched to Boards of charities across the country. In addittion to David Wallace, Johnny Sexton has been matched with Headstrong, Marcus Horan with the Limerick Learning Hub, Leo Cullen with SIFE Ireland, Shane Jennings with the Ronald McDonald House and Eoin Reddan with the Irish Youth Foundation.
